The Art of Death
An in-depth study of Egyptian Funerary Arts during the late period, approximately 712-332 BC, will show the use and evolution of mortuary arts. The Egyptian belief in the afterlife included a strong mythology peopled with powerful and mischievous gods. Their burial practices included amulets, spells, images, and artifacts all meant to ease and improve the transition of the dead to the next world. When faced with the uncertainty of dying, ancient Egyptians called upon the power of magic to secure their place in the realm of the dead.
